Economics Panel at the British Science Festival, 2017

I was at the British Science Festival at the University of Sussex with my LSE colleagues Oriana Bandiera and Nava Ashraf at the Economics panel last Thursday. We spoke about how the discipline is relaxing the assumption of economic agents being narrowly self-interested and bringing closer together Adam Smith's dual view of human nature in The Wealth of Nations and The Theory of Moral Sentiments. David Dickinson of University of Birmingham organised the session. Below are some photos which should convince you that Economics may be the dismal science but economists can be a pretty cheerful lot! The slides and the voice recording of the entire session is available if you click the link: https://matterhorn-presentation.uscs.susx.ac.uk/engage/theodul/ui/core.html?id=5e8450a5-004b-41ba-a9be-64bf669212a8&dl=video
